The Lost Wax Process

  • Wax Model

    The artist begins by sculpting a detailed wax model, capturing every intricate detail and design element. This original creation serves as the blueprint for the final piece.

  • Mold Creation

    The wax model is carefully encased in a heat-resistant mold material. When heated, the wax melts away, leaving a perfect cavity that will receive the molten metal.

  • Metal Casting

    Precious metal is poured into the mold cavity, creating an exact replica of the original wax sculpture. The result is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.

Featured on Kentucky Life, exhibited in multiple one-woman shows, and selected for the 2022 Governor's Exhibit at the Kentucky Capitol Rotunda, Salina Ramsay's artwork has also appeared in several Kentucky-filmed productions, including Secretariat. Honored as a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Steve Beshear, she continues to create collectible works that carry her artistic vision from canvas to gold.
