There are racehorses.
And then there is Secretariat.
The horse who thundered into history and never truly left.
These 14-karat solid gold Secretariat Earrings represent the newest chapter in a story that began decades ago at a kitchen table in Kentucky and eventually found its way to the silver screen.
Their origins can be traced to a remarkable commission. Salina Ramsay was asked by Penny Chenery, owner of Secretariat, to create a sculptural likeness of the great champion. Working in the ancient lost wax tradition, Ramsay painstakingly hand-carved a miniature model, studying every detail until the essence of Secretariat emerged. Penny Chenery personally reviewed and approved the design, ensuring that the sculpture faithfully reflected the horse who captured the world's imagination during his historic 1973 Triple Crown campaign.
Years later, that same design became the foundation for the gold pin featured in Disney's Secretariat motion picture.
Now, for the first time, the celebrated image has been reimagined as earrings.
Each miniature sculpture is cast in solid 14-karat yellow gold, preserving the strength, athleticism, and unmistakable profile of the horse many consider the greatest Thoroughbred of all time. More than jewelry, they are a direct connection to one of racing's most beloved legends and to the remarkable woman who guided him into history.
