Collection: Prints

Salina Ramsay Studio offers various, open-edition lithographic prints. What distinguishes a lithograph from an original? Briefly, lithographic printing allows the replication of unique works of art. The finished product is termed a lithograph - an authorized reproduction of an original design executed by an artist or professional craftsman.

The Design Process

All Salina Ramsay Studio Gold designs are created using the traditional lost wax method. Salina began designing jewelry for the horse industry in 1986.

Each design usually begins with a study Salina creates on paper or from an original oil painting. Sometimes the designs are rough pencil drawings and sometimes they are done in watercolor.

Sculpting In Wax

The second phase of the design process involves scuplting a creation in wax. This is the piece that will be cast in either sterling silver or gold. From this original design, a hollow mold is created that will receive hot wax to form duplicates of the original wax sculpture.
